The Oakville Fire department saw something they won't forget this past weekend: they assisted the delivery of a new baby inside of an Oakville home.
A baby girl was born on Saturday, April 13, 2024 with the assistance of Oakville Fire and Halton Paramedics. The residence was reported to be in the area of Bronte Road and Upper Middle Road.
According to Deputy Fire Chief Drew Boys, Oakville Fire crews responded to a medical call on Saturday at around 9 p.m. Upon arrival, Deputy Boys says firefighters discovered a woman in labour.
Oakville Fire crews provided patient care until Halton Paramedics arrived on the scene. During the course of treatment, a baby girl was delivered with the help of paramedics and fire crews.
Once both mother and newborn were stabilized, Halton Paramedics cleared the fire crews from the scene.
